Cutting the beard

It was a long Sunday; it won't put them in the right order. But it's the full beard down to nothing.

Coca-Cola/McDonalds trip

During our shopping trip (w/ShaNeil) today we HAD to stop by McDonalds for their Coca-Cola cups Free with a Large Value Meal. We ran into some other Nephi friends (who knew Mr McKay ate at McDonald's?).

You Said It

I was cleaning out a filing cabinet drawer this morning and came across a small green notebook. In the whole notebook, there was one page used... The page you see here. The closest sense I can make of it is that it was part of a collection of quotes for the You Said It feature in the Clarion (school newspaper). Do you love it as much as I do?
Hey Jackie! Is my belt holding your pants up?

Go easy on the pinto beans.

Thanksgiving surprise

I came home from school today to a beautiful new kitchen table. My amazing husband went to to end of the world...er...edge of the state...for this find. I love how the white pedestal looks against our maple floor. Now...to find chairs!

A Few Project Pics

Hey, party people. It's been a while. We have been a busy two, remodeling our kitchen (on the cheap), getting ready for winter, and generally loving life.

I am teaching the analytical writing class for JSD. It is one of my duties as District Writing Specialist, and it is a good thing, but VERY overwhelming. School in general is wearing me out. It's brutal. A lot of extra duty to keep me hopping. Hence the lack of posts, even though life is moving forward and there would be fun things to post about.
Our kitchen cabinets have been refinished, painted and "aged." We added oil-rubbed bronze hardware and Blaine and I are both very happy with how it turned out. Lovely. It evens makes the yellow counter look more friendly.

It feels like I can actually move into my kitchen, which is pretty amazing. We are still deciding on open shelving or no, and currently just doing without a place to keep our glasses.

Blaine also installed a new kitchen sink and faucet, which makes all the difference in the world. It has two lovely basins, one of them a small fruit sink and one of them an oversized bowl. I can fit an entire cookie sheet in the bottom of that fella. Be jealous! I am still talking my husband into adding the hardware to those two fake drawers beneath the sink. He should, huh? :)
We also painted our front door blue, which I adore. It was in pretty rough shape, so we figured that we couldn't really do anything to hurt it. Do you want to know a secret? Green has always been my favorite color, but now I find myself looking everywhere to find the color of my husband's eyes. So, blue door. I am ridiculous.

What Do I Want Out of Life?

While cleaning out my desk I came across a piece of my writing from 2009. I thought I would share it here. :) What Do I Want Out of Life? In...
