Recently I went out to lunch with my two sisters; Aubrey and Joanna.
While I was driving Joanna home she pointed out a Ginger on a longboard.
"See! That is the kid I've been telling you about." Joanna said
"The other day I saw him parked outside my apartment and thought it was you. I awkwardly approached him until I realized it wasn't you. I felt like and idiot, he probably thinks I'm psycho and a stalker. Because I was waiting for him to get out of his vehicle."
"Oh ya. He looks similar to me." I said.
Then I parked in front of her apartment when this Ginger came skating passed again.
"See! He totally looks like your twin" Joanna said.
"Ya, there is a resemblance." I said
The Ginger went into his apartment and then came back out. That's when I noticed he was
5'8 (like me)
grey ball-cap(like me)
Blue-ish shirt(like me)
Red beard(like me)
and Nike+ Freerun shoes(like me)
This was way too much and way too coincidental.
I talked to him for a minute and pointed out our similarities. He didn't think it was as funny as I did(he didn't have my sense of humor). I had Joanna take a picture of us. You be the judge.
By the way, his name is Kolby and he is 24yrs old....There is only one Blaine that is a Ginger, has a beard, is NOT a red-headed stepchild....I should have asked him if he was(a stepchild).

Better
I've been pretty silent lately because I have been a sad lady and it seems better to be silent than to complain. I don't feel like talking to anyone, really, and so I have ignored blogs and Facebook for the most part.
Blaine spent a good part of a month in the hospital, and it was rough. I forgot how to cook meals, I spent too much time doing silly projects, and I watched far too much television. There were a lot of tears on my part because I felt so alone. I had so many hours to fill, and I was just running in place to keep myself busy while Blaine was gone. No good.
I am no good at being alone. I am better with Blaine.
He's been home for a week (or two) and we've still been laying pretty low. Blaine is working on our home theatre, installing speakers, a ceiling mounted projector, and a fixed screen. It's going to be pretty amazing, and I'll make sure to post pictures when everything is put together.
Kisses to blog land.

There is some irony here.
I hate being late. It seems that I was much more on the ball and prompt before I was married. As a single woman, I would (for the most part) hop out of bed each morning and make it to work EARLY. I know, it sounds incredible. And now, I find it impossible.
Something about being a Bassett has slowed me down, has forced me to stop and smell the roses. And, being a Bassett has for some reason made me late. All the time. I am late to work and late to church and late to family gatherings. I'm horrible. I get frustrated with myself and frustrated with Blaine, even though the fact that we like cuddling with each other and talking to each other in the mornings is what slows us down, and I love the talks and the cuddles.
So, this brings me to the topic of this post. A few months ago, we were very late to church, and Blaine walked into the chapel. I refused to walk in because I hate walking in to the chapel for an 11 o'clock meeting for which I have no good late excuse, so I stayed in the lobby, stubborn and alone. Blaine eventually came out to get me, and he used the sneakiest logic ever to get me to go into the chapel with him. He asked me if I would rather make it to heaven late, or not at all. Then, he asked me if I would have rather married him later (like, at the ripe old age of 26) or not at all. So, the gist is that late is better than never. And walking into the chapel late is better than not going to church at all.
I got the great idea to make a piece of wall art to symbolize this idea, to remind me to be calm and zen when I am running late.
It was my idea to give this to Blaine for Valentine's Day.
It is now March 22, and I have finished the gift.

That's What It's All About!
Not mine, but it came across my Twitter feed and I lol'd. Funny, isn't it? Think about it for a minute. This is the language I have been asking my freshmen to make sense of for the past month. :) Yay me.

Why I love teaching freshmen.
Students are studying Romeo and Juliet all month. I just quizzed them on the prologue, a quiz that required a rough line by line translation.
"From ancient grudge break to new mutiny." = An old grudge gets more grudgy.
"From both the fatal loins of these two foes." = Both families fight like lions.
Be jealous of my job. It rocks.

Happy Baptism!
Today Cameron West was baptized and he sure had a huge crowd of supportive friends and family. It was pretty neat, and Blaine and I feel blessed to be a part of this fella's life.
I don't have any pictures of today, but I can include a picture of us with Elder Christofferson. Cameron went all the way up to a General Authority to have his baptism approved. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
