Happy Helpers

Remember that time you offered to help with my house? Remember how I haven't really asked you to yet?

On August 14 we have a volunteer contractor coming over. He is repairing walls and ceiling, texturing walls, and going through with a paint gun through our whole stinkin' house. He is bringing the special tools that we don't own and doing whatever he can in the time he has. He has asked that we find some helpers to speed up the process. You want to?
The Cooks will be at the Lofley Family Reunion so they are out, and I would sure love some help. Especially because (GUESS WHAT!?) Yep. School begins 5 days later.

So, if you are around and can be helpful on this little Saturday adventure, let me know.

Love.

Ta da!

I've had myself a snap bang week. On Tuesday, lunch with the ladies. On Wednesday, a trip with Cassi to go shopping and erranding because my husband kicked me out of the house and refused to let me work...he wanted me to play with my dear friend instead.

A few days ago I walked out to my mailbox and found a little gift from the federal government. It was wrapped up in an envelope and from the weight of it it seemed to be about $8,000.

MY TAX CREDIT ARRIVED, PEOPLE.

I did a little dance and shouted a hooray.

Yesterday I walked downstairs to the sight of my greasy-handed husband, with his shirt off, installing a new garage door opener. Boy howdy, it was a happy sight. I loved the shirtless and I loved the greasy hands and I love having a garage that I can drive right into without any difficulty. Pretty awesome.

Last night ShaNeil and Russell drove to Nephi and we slept out under the stars. Today we will go to Burrastons, and to the Payson CIty Aquatic Center.

Summer, my friends, is lovely.

Summer Time Heat!

So, this afternoon, Blaine's cousin came and installed a wood pellet stove in our basement. We have a lovely little nook for it and we decided that it would be a good use of our hard earned money. You see, our home is designed with radiant heat, and this little puppy will heat our home for less during the winter. Yay! It's super strange to think about warmth right now, because it has been HOT HOT!

Our design is pretty much the one pictured, without the fancy schmancy animal designs. Just the glass, ladies and gents. I like the shape of the bay stove. Yep.

Joan Baez Concert @ Red Butte

Last night felt like summer. Quite spontaneously Blaine and I decided to join Arlene and Joanna for a concert of legendary folk singer. Yeah, I said it. And, I am not ashamed to say that I knew and loved many of the songs. This woman, she has been singing for 60 years. Amazing. And she was graceful and charming and lovely.

It was a little chilly because we hadn't really planned to attend an outdoor concert, but we sat in the amphitheater under the stars cuddling and it felt just like summer should feel. It was relaxing and inspiring and rejuvenating.

Today I am working on the house.

A Recap of Denver, in Photos

Picture 1:  Happy Denver. When we wandered around town we took some pictures of the city. Doesn't this first one look like a smiling face? I thought so.

Picture 2: Our cute feet.

Picture 3: An artistic photo taken as we walked downtown.

Picture 4: Creepy Mark Twain at the Museum of transportation. My ginger man approves.

Picture 5:  Our cute and smiling Denver faces.
