Our posts are a little spotty lately because a lack of regular internet connection and guardianship of my teenage cousin. That being said we are so stinking excited to meet friends and family as Husband and Wife. We look forward to visiting with you soon and if our connection gets better we'll shower you with more posts of our house, life, and travels.
Cheers,
Blaine
P.S. This is now Krystle. I logged in and changed the picture to this one that I like a bit better. Sneaky! :)

Blessed
Some days I walk around my house and am still a bit overwhelmed. We need to clean up our kitchen in a real way, refinishing cabinets, building new shelves, replacing the kitchen sink (I haven't talked to my husband about that last one) :) Our wood floor needs a bit of work, and I still have no curtains or blinds. And so on and so on and so on.
Tonight, I got home and graded for a bit. I placed a blanket down in the middle of the lounge and spread out my work and cruised through the essays. I felt luxurious. I did three loads of laundry, made dinner, cleaned the bedroom, repaired a chair, brought a few decorations up from the basement. I walked through the house and breathed in the air and was overwhelmed instead with a reminder of how far we have come, of how comfortable this house will be for us.
Blaine and I have been blessed beyond measure. Last year at this time we were thinking of falling in love. This year, we are married, in a beautiful home, surrounded by friends and family who are generous with their time and energy and love.
What a difference a year makes.

Word on the street is that I am in mucho trouble for not posting after pictures. To make up for my silence, I am offering three excuses:
a) The mono is back (a pain I have not felt since January has returned)
b) On Monday of last week Blaine and I became acting guardians of Blaine's cousin, Asher, and helped him move in to the guest bedroom, register for school, etc.
c) We are too cheap to pay for internet just yet so I am borrowing unsecured wi-fi from my neighbor and it is hit and miss.

Blaine has worked hard to make our home livable. He has painted all of the baseboards while I have been at school. He has replaced outlets and installed vanities. He is amazing and oh-so-lovable.
My parents gave us the baseboards as a wedding gift. Previously, all of the walls had carpet coving, and they needed much love and finishing. The baseboards look brilliant.
Blaine's incredible neighbors in Mona gave us the hard wood. We paid a man in Spanish Fork to install it, and we are so pleased with the results.
Stop in and see us anytime!
It is even better in person! :)

Carpet Countdown: BLAST OFF!
![]() |
| Cute baby. I should probably apologize for letting him crawl on my old carpet! |
I missed blogging yesterday because I was a busy lady instead. Blaine has been working on the house like a mad man during the day and then I get off work and usually we get to relax together. Yesterday after work I did a little bit of house stuff. Then we set up a miniature golf hole in my classroom (for homecoming week). Then, Spencer and Nancy were at Arlene's so we dashed out there for some Bassett Family fun. We watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid and I giggled a whole lot. By the time I collapsed in to my bed I was so tired that I didn't even realize that my computer was still in the car, unblogged.
So, today you get two pictures for the price of one. No "afters" yet, but two more befores, for your viewing pleasure.
Oh, and my sister thought perhaps I needed to clarify: the before pictures are not of my garbage. They are pictures of trash Blaine and I purchased when we bought the home. The end.
LOVE!

Carpet Countdown: 4 Days
Ha! I dare you to guess where this is! See that iron? It doesn't exist anymore! The wall that supported it? Nope. That swamp cooler vent? Gone! Those light fixtures? No more. Okay..I just realized that our rockin' arches give us away. Curses!
This is, obviously, a kind of view down the hallway, from the dining room space. Funny. It looks nothing like this now.
